Winter in Missoula

Activities

Ghost Towns

Garnet Outside of Missoula, was once a booming mining town. Today, all that's left are remnants of about 20 buildings, including a jail, a post office, a blacksmith shop, a school, and a hotel. If you're up to it, you can even rent accommodations to make sure the town has at least one or two overnight residents; two cabins are available for rent during the winter.

Sleigh Rides

The Ultimate Low Impact Winter Sport Sleighriding in MontanaSkiing, skating, sledding, snowshoeing...all great winter sports in Montana, but mere mortals can't do them 24 hours a day. So if you need a break from some of the more strenuous winter sports in Montana--or if you just want to enjoy some winter scenery while relaxing--a sleigh ride is the perfect solution. Sure, it's relaxing. Your ears are treated to the jingling of sleigh bells (just like in the Holiday carols); your eyes are treated to scenes of white winter enchantment, and your lungs are treated to crisp mountain air. When you crawl into bed afterwards, you'll find that relaxing combination is about the best sleeping remedy on the market; you'll drift off to slumberland with the sounds of jingle bells still floating around you.

Gold Creek Overland Stagecoach Phone: 406-288-3340 http://stagecoachmontana.com Follow I-90 to Gold Creek exit (number 166) then turn south toward the town of Gold Creek going approximately 1.5 miles to Old Church Road (which will be land marked by the old Catholic Church on the corner). Then turn west going .5 miles to the arched entry of 6 C Ranches and you have arrived at your western stagecoach experience.
