Regional Economic Conference Coming to Missoula

Opportunities and Challenges in the Pacific Northwest Hinterlands

 Missoula, Montana at the Holiday Inn- Parkside

 

May 20-21, 2010

 

 

The Bureau of Business and Economic Research at The University of Montana is proud to be the host of the annual Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Conference in Missoula, May 20th through the 21st.  This long-standing conference brings together regional and international economists, analysts and students for a day and half of presentations, sessions, and exhibits.

 

You are invited to register and join others on the banks of the Clark Fork River at the Holiday Inn- Parkside for this unique business and networking opportunity.

 

The conference begins Thursday, May 20th with Nigel Gault of Global Insight presenting the national outlook, followed by an economic outlook panel with forecasters from different states and provinces. 

 

The conference theme is "Opportunities and Challenges in the Pacific Northwest Hinterlands."  We expect panel discussions and paper presentation in:

  • Energy
  • Tourism
  • Demographics
  • Health Care
  • Trade
  • Resource use
  • linkages with the urban core of the Pacific Northwest including British Columbia and Alberta.

The conference will end early Friday afternoon with the Tiebout Lecture by John Cromartie, a geographer with the USDA Economic Research Service.
