Dunrovin Ranch is a little slice of paradise along the Bitterroot River - minutes from down town Missoula, yet worlds away from city life. Dunrovin is much more than your typical guest ranch. We are a little ranch with a big heart and big ideas! Being at Dunrovin feels like visiting a favorite aunt who makes it her business to see that you have a great time. We combine personal, quality service with education and our creative imaginations to offer our guests some truly unique Montana experiences. Dunrovin offers guest accommodations, horseback riding, multiple day horseback expeditions, river recreation such a canoeing, fishing, swimming, and inner tube floating, special events such as fly fishing clinics, and large group events such as conference field trips, wedding receptions, and company parties. All of our activities have an education component: we teach you how to ride rather than just putting you on a horse and taking you down the trail; we show you how to paddle a canoe and teach you to "read the river"; our guest accommodations include a library full of books on Montana's natural wonders and rich cultural history. Our tours, trips, and expeditions include interpretation of the natural and cultural history of the area. We often take local experts along to thrill us with their tales - for example, our Big Sky at Night overnight adventure takes guests on a horseback ride to a forest lookout where they are met by a University of Montana astronomer with her high powered telescope and treated to a tour of the night sky! Dunrovin also offers an exciting opportunity for groups both large and small to experience a Taste of Montana that includes horseback riding, fly casting lessons and contests, river recreation, a great barbecue, and gourmet s'more around our fire pit - a full day of Montana at it best! We happily work with conference organizers, brides and grooms, and company staff to create a one of a kind event for their group parties, receptions, and field trips. Our event planner can arrange music - band or camp fire sing along - dancing, food, athletic contests, and "only in Montana" activities such as pin the tail on the live donkey! Missoula area residents who want to learn more about horses and riding, may want to consider our Equestrian Club. Club members enjoy riding lessons, trail rides, overnight riding adventures, and the opportunity to form a long term relationship with a special horse.
