Do you favor a frosty mug of beer on the warm summer days, and a heart-warming porter or stout in the dead of winter? Then you'll find yourself at home in Missoula with our three local, and distinctly different breweries that serve up everything from tradtional English Ales, to authentic German Lagers, to the ever popular hemp infused brews that populate our fair city. Know that in Missoula, as a lover of beer, you have no shortage of delicious options, and will never be alone here where the beer flows as steady as the Clark Fork River. However, you can't get very far without knowing your options:
Bayern Brewery:
The local German brewery and tap room since 1987. Here you can get your continental Europe on with fellow locals as you sample the range and locations of Bavaria and greater Deutschland with your tour guide, Master Brewer Jurgen Knoller. Regularly offering:
On a more seasonal trend you can expect to find:
Each beer is also regularly offered in both a filtered and unfiltered version to truly expand the horizons of your taste buds.
Big Sky Brewery:
Offering everything Ale. If you are from out of state chances are you've still heard of Moose Drool (that is if you are still in the western portion of this country). Offering a range of great beer, this is the place to go if you're just looking for a little after work relaxation and samples of beer that are handed over to you with no obligation except to limit yourself to the state-mandated four-eight ounce glasses at the tap room.
- Moose Drool - Brown Ale
- Scape Goat - Pale Ale
- Trout Slayer - Ale
- Powder Hound - Winter Ale
- Summer Honey - Seasonal Ale
- Big Sky - India Pale Ale (IPA)
Every now and again you can find some specialty brews on tap at the brewery that you won't ever find in the stores. And if you are that stout fan, keep an eye out for when they occasionally release their Imperial Stout... it is worth the trip.
Kettle House Brewery:
The local foot traffic favorite located just across the river from downtown. The taps are always running, and you're lucky to catch a seat as this place is always hopping. First in town to really raise the bar on canned beer production and sales, KettleHouse brews will always leave you thirsting for "just one more."
